MassHysteria

MassHysteria is dance collective made up of 12 female and non-binary dancers from 8 different coutnries, which was formed in 2017 during our studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.

We make dance work which can be experienced in a variety of contexts (performative arts, visual arts, music events); we often collaborate with artists working in a variety of mediums who inspire us.

In 2018/19 we've hosted a series of events called MassHysteriaPresents, which took place in our houses in South East London. We've presented our work and the work of other local artists. In 2019 we received the Trinity Laban Innovation Award.

We have recently presented our work at Tate Modern. Mass Hysteria Presents: The Game was a day-long event hosted on the 18th February 2020 by Mass Hysteria at Tate Modern. The event included a showcase of the choreographic and moving image work made by the members of the collective and their collaborators, as well as participatory games which invited Tate Modern's visitors to move with the members of the collective.
